Tell us your class and we'll match the tyres, the rim widths they need and the hubs to suit – from genuine OTK and AMV magnesium to budget Jet wheels. Buy the full package or just the bits you need.

How it works

  • 1. Pick your class – we match the control tyre and the rim widths it needs.
  • 2. Dry, wet or both – wets want narrower rears and usually wider hubs.
  • 3. Race or budget – genuine OTK / AMV magnesium, or Jet aluminium.
  • Live stock – if something's short we show what we've got that fits.

    What goes with what

    The short version of how wheels, tyres and hubs fit together.

    Rim width follows the tyre

    Senior slicks (10x4.50/4.60 front, 11x7.10 rear) run on 130–132 mm fronts and 210–212 mm rears. Cadet and mini tyres (10x4.00 / 11x5.00) use 115 / 145–147 mm.

    Wets want narrower rears

    Senior wets have an 11x6.00 rear, so most drivers keep a wet set of wheels with 180 mm rears (120–130 mm fronts) and leave the wets fitted.

    Go wider in the wet

    Longer front hubs and the rear track pushed out (up to the 140 cm limit) give the kart more grip in the rain. The builder picks longer hubs for wet set-ups.

    Bolt pattern (PCD)

    OTK (Tony Kart, Kosmic, Exprit, LN, Redspeed), Birel ART / Freeline / Synergy and most others use 58 mm PCD – OTK, AMV and Jet wheels all fit. CRG is 67 mm and Kart Republic has its own – ask us.

    Hub bore = axle size

    Front hubs match the stub axle – 25 mm on junior/senior karts, 17 mm on cadets. Rear hubs match the axle – 50 mm senior, 30 mm cadet, 25 mm bambino (40 mm on some older chassis).

    Fun & practice tyres

    Just want to go karting? Heidenau HLD and Duro are hard-wearing slicks that last many times longer than race tyres – ideal for practice days and club karts.

    Questions

    Do I need new hubs with new wheels?

    Not usually – if your chassis is 58 mm PCD (OTK, Birel ART, Freeline, Synergy and most others) OTK, AMV and Jet wheels bolt straight on to the hubs you have. Hubs are only needed if yours are worn, you're changing track width, or you're building a wet set-up.

    Can I run wet tyres on my dry wheels?

    You can in a pinch, but a senior wet (11x6.00 rear) is stretched on a 210–212 mm rim. A separate wet set with 180 mm rears means the wets stay fitted and you can swap wheels in minutes.

    OTK or AMV?

    Both are top-level magnesium wheels. OTK MXC/MXJ are the genuine Tony Kart group wheels; AMV Oxitech wheels come in different designs for different grip levels – 9F for high grip, 3F for medium, Tiger and Lynx for cold or low grip.

    The wheel I want is out of stock

    The builder shows every other wheel that fits your tyres with what's on the shelf right now. Items marked "order in" can still be bought – we'll send them as soon as they land.

    Can you fit the tyres for me?

    Yes – add tyre fitting in the extras and collect from our Whilton Mill shop. Call ahead so we can have your wheels and tyres there.
