How Did You Get Into Karting?
Max’s interest in karting started when he received a K1 Stars experience at Rye House for his birthday in 2019. “I absolutely loved it,” he recalls. That moment sparked his passion for the sport, leading him to test and race at Rye House in the IKRs. Motorsport has always been part of his family, with his dad’s side involved in racing cars and trucks at tracks like Brands Hatch. “Racing has always been part of the family, so it felt like a natural progression for me,” says Max.
What Are You Most Excited About for the 2025 Season?
Looking ahead to 2025, Max is most excited about completing his first full British Karting Championship. “It’s a big step, and I’m looking forward to competing at Kartmaster this year,” he says. He’s eager to test his skills against some of the best drivers and continue improving throughout the season.
Areas of Focus for Improvement
This year, Max is focusing on becoming more defensive in his driving and improving his overtaking skills. “I want to believe in myself and get those overtakes done quickly,” he explains. Max understands the importance of both strategy and confidence in competitive racing, and he’s determined to improve in these areas.
What’s Your Favourite Track?
Max’s favourite track is PFI (Paul Fletcher International), known for its wide layout and challenging corners. “It’s a track I still need to conquer,” he says, highlighting the excitement and challenge it presents. Max enjoys racing on tracks that push him to his limits and help him improve as a driver.
Who Inspires You in Motorsport?
Max looks up to Lewis Hamilton, who also began his career at Rye House. “He’s a great inspiration,” Max says. “He’s faced challenges but has never given up, and his perseverance is something I really admire.”
Best Race Moment So Far
Max’s best karting moment so far was winning the Whilton Mill WM Plate, his first win at Whilton Mill. “It was a proud moment for me, and it motivated me to keep pushing forward,” he says. His ambition for the rest of the year is to break into the top 10 in the British Karting Championship.
