Check the fit (Tillett’s method)
- Sit in the seat in your race suit (and rib protector if you wear one).
- Feel the gap over the leg bone (femur), the hip bone (pelvis) and down the length of the ribs.
- The gaps should be even — no loose areas and nothing pinching. Loose? Go down a size or pad it out. Pinching? Go up.
- Standard adult set-up is about 15 cm from the axle to the driver’s back (13.5 cm KZ, about 18 cm juniors). The seat shouldn’t sit more than 5 mm below the chassis tubes.
